About Conference

Today, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has become an integral part of modern societies and are omnipresent, constantly transforming lifestyles. ICTs provide real time borderless communication and almost unlimited access to a range of services. Technical developments have improved our daily lives with online banking, Mobile Data Services and Voice over Internet (VoIP) a few to mention. The availability of ICT and network-based services offer a number of advantages for the society in general. ICT applications, such as e-Government, e-Commerce, e-Education, e-Health and e- Environment, are considered as enablers for socio-economic development, particularly due to their ability to deliver a wide range of basic services in remote and rural areas.

Africa continent continues to be one of the fastest growing in ICT and there are several avenues for growth in the ICT sector from e-commerce and e-services, mobile technologies, applications development, and automation to become regional Center of ICT professionals.

To reiterate the relationship and commitment between India, Rwanda and other African countries, the India Africa ICT Expo is a first-time event in Rwanda-Kigali, following other successful similar events that happened in different African countries and this time it will take place at the Kigali Convention Center from 5th – 6th August 2019. Under the theme ‘India-Africa Summit: Accelerating Africa’s Digital Transformation Agenda: The summit is expected to attract over 500 participants, including Ministers of ICT and Communication, Public & Private Sector, International Organizations, Industry Leaders, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Young Innovators, Civil Society and Academia.

The India Africa ICT Expo is organized by the ministry of ICT & Innovation, Government of Rwanda and the Ministry of Communication & commerce of the Government of India with the support of Telecom Equipment’s & services Export Promotion Council (TEPC)

This Conference will bring together over 100+ ICT companies from India and other African Countries, Participants Will discuss constructive pathways to leapfrog Africa’s Digital Transformation by creating sustainable Partnership for Africa Innovators to realize their full potential Hence contributing to the Socio-economic transformation

The Conference will also offer a platform for dialogue between governments and the private sector to seek lasting technology solutions to deliver Africa’s socio-economic transformation. It will also provide a space for young innovators from Africa to showcase their potential for creating home grown innovation.

Innovation and Startup across Africa

To be able to accelerate innovation and economic development in Africa, governments and businesses must collectively cultivate an environment that.supports innovation-driven enterprises and increases entrepreneurship. To drive growth, emphasis should be on strengthening incubation services, essential networking platforms, and mentorship opportunities for start-ups as well as entrepreneurial educative courses for young innovators.
